It is through the Word of God that we are brought to eternal life and it is through the Word of God that we are sustained in this Life by the Spirit of the Living God. The sub-pages in this section give us the daily readings from the Liturgy of the Word as well as meditation and prayer related to the Word (eg., The Word Among Us ).
Here is a brief selection of what the Word says about the Word:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Heb. 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
1Th. 2:13 And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.
Eph. 6:17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God
