Jesus told Nicodemus that in order to be an effective participant in the Work of the Father (which he termed the Kingdom of Heaven) one must be regenerated and empowered through baptism by water and the Spirt.
It is the privilege of all who believe that Jesus the Anointed Messiah sent from the Father to not only be renewed inwardly in their spirits but also to be empowerd to be emmissaries of the Gospel to others.
